GamePlayLabs is one of the aliases of an adware program that pretends to help you in your web browsing but actually just monitors your activities so it can serve you ads. It may not be the most malicious program we’ve ever seen—and it doesn’t install itself on your hard drive unless you let it—but it’s the kind of thing that can be really infuriating if you let it hang around.
The GamePlayLabs adware is delivered through a network of sites that purport to offer shopping discounts and web search help. But if you install this thing, you’re unlikely to get any benefit from it. Mostly, it will just slow down your browser and show you a bunch of ads that don’t do anything for you. Meanwhile, the browser add-on will direct you to sites like the one pictured.
Want to put this spammy genie back in its bottle? Here’s how to get rid of GamePlayLabs for free.
