Mac users like to consider themselves immune to badware, but the days of Mac’s impenetrable security seem to be numbered. With programs like the PremierOpinion spyware, badware makers are finding ways to get around Mac’s security by bundling their pests with seemingly legitimate software. PremierOpinion, for example, gets into people’s computers by piggybacking along with screensavers that people download and install on their own. It’s completely dishonest, but it works.
PremierOpinion is one of the first badware programs we’ve seen that has both a Mac and a PC version, so we expect to see a lot more of it in the coming weeks. Apparently, there’s supposed to be a good way to remove PremierOpinion from a Mac, but we’ve heard from lots of people who say this method doesn’t work. If there are any Mac users out there, what do you think? Have you had trouble trying to get rid of Premier Opinion?
Meanwhile, if you’re a PC user, you’re in luck. We know a way to uninstall Premier Opinion for free.
