Somoto is a supposedly helpful browser add-on that actually just hijacks your browser and directs you to lots of unwanted ads. The main effect of this pest is that it continuously sends you to the Somoto.com website, which is basically just a copy of Google that prominently includes ads at the top of the results. Obviously, the goal is to get you to click these ads. But you could get better results by going through Google, without the adware spam.
And as with all badware infections like Somoto, you never know what these guys are doing with the information they get from tracking your browser activity. Best not to take any chances.
Want to get back to browsing the web with just the normal, non-creepy ads? Here’s how to remove Somoto for free.
